Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Audits various work sites to ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental requirements and governmental regulations; recommends and monitors corrective actions.
Provides technical assistance to assist Company managers in controlling losses from injuries, liabilities and property losses; develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with new standards and safety practices.
Develops and conducts safety and health training programs.
Coordinates accident investigations; assists when appropriate; ensures completion of necessary paperwork.
Coordinates medial, workman's' compensation and insurance programs to control costs; serves as liaison between insured and insurance carrier when appropriate.
Represents the Company with OSHA, the EPA, the DOT and other regulatory officials regarding permitting, violations, inspections as requested.
Assists with obtaining quality safety equipment and when applying for required safety permits.
Assists in the development of corporate safety budge and monitors budget for assigned areas to ensure adherence.

Education: Four year college degree; science major preferred.
Experience: Three to five years experience working in health and safety related programs. OSHA VPP Experience Preferred and CSP Certification Preferred.
Knowledge and Abilities: Thorough knowledge and understanding of all federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the environmental services industry. Good organizational skills. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
