Summary of Responsibilities:

We are expanding our development teams and seeking to hire new software developers to help innovate EllieMae’s next generation SaaS Platform.The Software Engineering job family analyzes, designs, develops, and tests software applications for features, modules, software enhancements and new products, using specifications and prototypes based on competitive market, customer requirements, business functionality and identifies tools, processes and technologies for problem resolution.

Primary Responsibilities & Objectives

  • Contribute to Ellie Mae’s product development team in moving our leading mortgage software solutions to the next level

  • Analyze, design, develop and unit test software applications with high quality and on schedule, including business critical Web services to be consumed by internal/external applications

  • Use state-of-the-art technologies and best practices to deliver your implementation

  • Collaborate closely with groups in and outside the development team (eg. QA, Product Management, UE, Tech Pub) to achieve high quality, predictable results

Qualifications, Skills and Education

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development

  • BA/BS or higher in a computer software or related field

  • Strong experience in Angular 1.x in a professional environment

  • Solid JavaScript knowledge

  • Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS with experience with CSS preprocessors (e.g.: Less or Sass)

  • Knowledge of common cross-browser and cross-device issues

  • Understanding of responsive design and development

  • Knowledge of Frontend best practices and debugging techniques

  • Responsive, positive attitude under time pressure

  • Ability to thrive in a high-performance work group

  • Strong time-management and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver working solutions on time

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


  • Other MVC experience (React, Angular 2 etc.)

  • Babel, ES6+ experience

  • Git

  • Less or Sass

  • Build tools (Grunt, Gulp, Webpack etc)

  • Testing (Jasmine, Karma, etc.)

  • Node
