DaVita Administrative Assistant 2 - Temporary in El Segundo, California


Contracting experience a plus.

Responsible for providing administrative and clerical support within area of responsibility that may include telephone support, filing, typing, coordinating schedules, distributing correspondence, materials management, data entry, simple data analyses, and rudimentary reporting to Payroll department. All within established legal guidelines and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate HealthCare Partners’ (HCP) commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer.

  • Ensures timely and accurate payment of non-provider payroll.

  • Provides payroll support to Employee & Clinician Services, Accounting and other departments by telephone, on-site training and/or production of various bi-weekly and ad hoc reports.

  • Maintains employee payroll records in accordance with federal and state guidelines.

  • Reconciles PTO accruals for employees leaving or returning from Leave of Absence.

  • Reconciles benefits deductions and applies payment of arrearage for premiums of benefits owed by the employee upon return from LOA.

  • Supports managers and supervisors in the accurate utilization of the Time and Attendance system.

  • Provides end-of-year audit assistance.

  • Uses, protects, and discloses HCP patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.


  • 1 or 2 years of post-high school education or a degree from a two-year college.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.


  • Minimum: 1-3 years of experience

  • Preferred: Over 2-3 years of experience within healthcare industry

  • Over 2-5 years of experience within specific job and/or department

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer literate

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and Outlook)

  • Able to type 25 wpm.
