We have a unique and exciting career opportunity for a Shipping Coordinator at our Burbank, CA campus.

You will be responsible for conducting Shipping functions for an Aerospace manufacturing facility. Following both written, and picture planning procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, or other records.

  • Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.

  • Assembles containers or selects preassembled containers.

  • Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding, per picture planning and standard operating procedures.

  • Seals containers with appropriate sealing materials.

  • Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto containers.

  • Completes and affixes appropriate waybills on containers.

  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.

  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

  • May operate forklifts or use handtruck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving area to storage or work area.

  • Assist other associates in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Three years in a high volume shipping environment, with both domestic and international transactions.

  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.

  • High school diploma, or equivalent

  • Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible.

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, and steel toed shoes.

  • Must be flexible to work overtime and weekends as needed

  • Exposure to environmental conditions includes occasional exposure to extreme heat, and exposure to dusts.

  • Requires lifting 40 lbs.
