DESCRIPTION

The Human Resources (HR) Assistant will report directly to the HR Director and assist the HR staff. The HR Assistant assists with the administration of the daily operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR assistant carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, health and wellness program and employment. The Human Resources Assistant position is located in Woodland Hills, CA and is a full-time, Mon-Fri, 40 hours a week, $12 per hour, non-exempt position. This position also offers a wealth of hands-on HR experience and opportunity for growth!

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

-Represent CARD in a professional, loyal, and ethical manner

-Follow all rules and regulations in accordance with CARD’s policies and procedures.

-Work in a collaborative and courteous manner with all CARD personnel

-Act as liaison between satellite offices and Corporate Human Resources Department

-Organize, maintain, and verify employee information; maintain accurate employee files and databases

-Ensure employee records are in compliance with Human Resources laws

-Keep all employee information completely confidential

-Respond to emails and phone inquiries from employees regarding issues such as payroll, new hire paperwork, HR laws etc.; direct employees to the appropriate department or individual for assistance if necessary.

-Assist with the company’s employee evaluation processes

-Assist the Corporate staff with filing, faxing, copying and mailing

-Enter new hire information in the HR system database

-Process and provide orientation for corporate new hires

-Assist with questions and problems courteously and promptly

-Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned

-Prepare source documentation needed for new hires, or effective changes in pay, status or benefits

-Interact and supply information to employees, department heads, and job applicants

-Create monthly expense reports for the Human Resource Director

-Create flyers, cards, emails, PowerPoint’s, using publisher as needed

-Maintain employee records spreadsheet

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

-Bachelor’s degree from a credited university

-2+ years of relevant secretarial/administrative experience preferred

-1+ years of HR experience preferred

-Exceptional interpersonal skills, a collaborative style and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

-Excellent communication skills both verbally and written

-Basic understanding of Human Resource functions

-Knowledge of all related computer applications such as MS. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

-Well organized and able to multitask
