Formally titled ‘Retail Project Manager’, the Program Manager reports to the Shared Services Manager within the Customer and Employee Experience Group and is responsible for leading special programs and delivering strategic initiatives for the respective business line. Major responsibilities include:
Provide consultative and program management leadership for programs, events, or other special assignments.
Coordinate efforts of multiple functional areas, monitor progress and make recommendations on Program Management activities and timeliness to achieve completion of activities in a timely, cost effective and efficient manner.
Develop project plans, project communications, timelines, and other project deliverables.
Establish reporting metrics for projects; track and report initiative benefits and SLA for productivity.
Collaborate with key partners such as Regional Bank Leadership, Operations, Marketing, Program Management Office and Finance to ensure success of projects and events and promote to strong partnerships.
Develop and drive strategic plans to meet business objectives, share results on business performance, strategic updates, and ROI measurement of activities.
Proactively identify areas of process improvement that will reduce rework and provide cost savings to the bank.
Lead and support special projects and activities upon request.
Prioritize and execute on ad hoc requests and responsibilities as needed.
Develop innovative ideas that drive strategic priorities.
Partner Liaison and Communication
Foster strong collaboration with internal business partners, communicators, and leaders.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop strategic and tactical recommendations.
Develop effective change management plans that will deliver communication that impact internal and external parties.
Design and deliver materials that can be used for Executive updates.
Work with various business partners to provide input that will enhance activities to reach and exceed goals
Prepare communications and presentations to be shared with business line executives and senior management
Develop thorough communication plans for rollout and implementation of all projects and initiatives
Risk and Compliance
Effectively manage risks associated with the activities in your business unit, support or control function.
Actively demonstrate knowledge and sensitivity to the current regulatory environment, complying with regulations and meeting regulatory expectations.
Adhere to policies, procedures and limits associated with the activities of your business unit, support or control function.
Respond to findings from regulators and control functions (e.g. audit, risk management and legal) to address identified risks and/or control matters in a timely manner.
Protect MUFG’s reputation as the world’s most trusted financial institution by escalating issues when behaviors or actions potentially undermine our ability to effectively identify, measure, mitigate, or monitor risks.
Conduct research and data analysis for ongoing projects. Interpret data and provide reporting on programs for analysis.
Provide survey design and analytic support for Regional Bank initiatives.
Identify trends and impact to program goals and strategic plans and present analysis and interpretation of results to leadership.
Identify trends and the impact to program goals and strategic plans and present analysis and interpretation of results to manager.
Assist in developing strategies and plans.
At a minimum, the right candidate should meet the following criteria:
Education, Licensure, Year of Experience, and Type of Work Experience
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher
Requires 3 years of previous Project Management experience with a proven track record in the above mentioned job responsibilities
5 years of increasingly more complex responsibility in performing business consulting, financial, and/or statistical analysis and model preparation using Microsoft Excel (or comparable) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong analytical, verbal/written communication, and presentation skills
Proficient in developing mass communications to the business line, which may also include presentations and recommendations to management
Excellent managerial and leadership skills
Ability to make decisions independently
Ability to provide comprehensive financial analysis to Finance group to review financials and discuss strategies on how to fill gaps
Ability to prepare complex analytical and financial reports
Highly developed ability to partner with other business lines
