Accountemps is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist, with 2+ years of experience. This Accounts Payable Specialist will be joining a unique opportunity where you can you grow your accounting skill set with varying duties. As an Accounts Payable Specialist you will be responsible for completing payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. Job duties for the Accounts Payable Specialist: Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries. Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments. Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions. Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions. Maintains historical records by microfilming and filing documents. Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed. This position is a part of the SALARIED PROFESSIONAL SERVICE (SPS) program at Robert Half Accountemps. The Salaried Professional Service program began in 1999. It is a program where we recruit and hire accounting and finance professionals on to the Robert Half staff full time as permanent employees and then lend our Salaried Professionals to our clients on a project bases. Skills/Qualifications BS degree in Accounting, Business or similar 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred Proficient in MS Excel Highly organized, detail oriented, have a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
