The Emergency Department (ED) has an immediate opening for a Registered Nurse II. The ED is a level 1 Trauma Center, a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, a Pediatric Critical Care Center and a Paramedic Base Station. The ED has 51 patient beds and a 7-space Fast Track. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive, leading-edge emergency care to a diverse adult and pediatric population.

The Registered Nurse II assumes the responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. Registered Nurse II makes clinical judgments and carries out related nursing intervention using the nursing process without supervision. Applies clinical knowledge regarding standard pattern of care to consolidate interventions for time and cost savings. Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements in patient assignment making delegation of tasks and documentation. Coordinates care for the patient and delivery team. Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.

Qualification Requirements/Preferences:

Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN or MSN preferred

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

Valid California Registered Nurse License; American Heart Association BCLS, ACLS, PALS

CEN, MICN preferred. EDAP or ENPC and TNCC or ATCN within first year of employment


Minimum 1 year or more recent acute ED RN experience.

• Manual finger dexterity and fine motor skills with eye-hand coordination

• Frequent standing, walking, twisting (trunk, neck), bending (waist), flexing/extending/stretching (extremities and trunk)

• Occasional sitting, gripping/grasping, reaching below shoulder level, reaching above shoulder level, kneeling, squatting

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull at least 100 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds
