Raytheon Section Manager in El Segundo, California

Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems currently has an opening for a Section Manager in the Software Engineer Center. The position requires that the individual perform both technical and program tasks as well as functional management tasks for his/her section members. The cleared manager will provide visibility to best care for team members as well as add value by directly working specific technical tasks in the program area. In the individual also provide technical leadership for the section and team members. The position requires support of program and functional reviews, proposal, and risk reduction efforts. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment. Required Skills: • Senior supervisor/technical lead with a minimum of 10 years of experience in software development. • Provide technical leadership of a team of engineers. • Provide career development of team members. • Perform technical work including but not limited to the entire software life cycle (requirements, design, code, test, & document). • Perform team member performance evaluations and ensuring reports to complete required and other training. • Perform other functional duties such as working with department & other functional management in the normal operations of the software engineering center. • C/C++ Programming, real-time embedded software development. • Active DOD Secret with ability to obtain a SAP/SAR clearance • US Citizenship Required Education: Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent, in Engineering or Computer Science Desired Skills: • Current holder of SAP/SAR clearances preferred • Top Secret preferred • Work independently as well as in a team environment. • Signal processing software development a plus. 103167
