The primary direct responsibilities for the position are: reviewing the coding of the invoices prepared for processing, responding to management requests for information, resolving vendor issues when appropriate, reviewing vendor statements, overseeing all projects assigned to the department to ensure that they are completed on target, preparing monthly accrual journal entries, communicating issues to accounting management, working with information services on systems issues, reviewing processes with an eye for eliminating inefficiencies and communicating to company management in verbal and written form process and policy clarifications when appropriate. A secondary direct responsibility is to act as backup for the creation and maintenance of vendor master data.

The primary supervisory responsibilities include: overseeing the day to day activities of the staff, assigning work load in an even distribution, processing payments for KSEA and five related subsidiary companies, managing the high volume department faced with many deadlines including weekly check runs, monthly closes, and monthly sales tax returns reporting and annual 1099 processing, covering for staff vacation or illness as needed, minimizing overtime while simultaneously keeping vendors current and earning all possible terms discounts, train and cross train staff, maintain team environment, preparing and presenting performance reviews, developing and managing performance improvement plans when necessary, identifying and responding to conflicts within the department on a timely basis, counseling and mentoring staff to their full potential.
